Movie Night IX: Daylight Savings Strikes Back

Seriously, fuck you daylight savings. Anyway…

Prisoners (2013)prisonersAnother Denis Villeneuve film. This one is a very David Fincher feeling thriller about a kidnapping mystery. Really keeps you guessing. I’m surprised I haven’t heard about this before now, it was really good. Villeneuve is definitely someone to keep an eye on.

Diggstown (1992)diggstownAnother guilty pleasure from the early 90s. James woods and Louis Gosset Jr. in a movie about boxing. I don’t know why it works but it does.

A Walk Among The Tombstones (2014)awalkamongthetombstonesLiam Neeson detective thriller where he hunts down a pair of nasty serial killers. Not much in the way of action to see here for a modern day Neeson movie, but good stuff nonetheless.

The Last Boyscout (1991)thelastboyscoutFirst time I’d ever seen this one, surprisingly. I don’t know, back in the day an action movie about football with a Wayans brother in it just didn’t sound appealing to me at all, but it’s surprisingly good. It’s not even particularly impressive in terms of action, but the dialogue is just so beautifully ridiculous and great.
